Printmaking

Tania Drogossi is a meticulous collector of images of a nature that is continually being desecrated, a field that absorbs the waste and/but may still manage to purify itself. Her visual images dissect the places and land. She focuses on part of the place and begins to observe and intervene. This almost magical process of etching - engraving with the needle, blocking out the acid with tar, oil crayons and sugar and ink- in her excitement she often forgets the final print and is attracted to the continual transformation of the etching plate. This creates a significant image in which our eyes can wander through endless paths and find escape routes from established reality.
